The St. Louis County Department of Public Health seeks a Nutrition Technician to manage nutrition counseling, healthcare and social service referrals, promote breastfeeding, and support healthy eating. This full‑time, grant‑funded position is located in the Koch Park office at 2137 Charbonier, Florissant, MO 63031.

Responsibilities
  • Determine WIC eligibility by gathering and assessing anthropometric, hematological data and nutritional intake.
  • Assess and assign health/nutrition risk factors according to WIC policy and procedures.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and healthcare/social service referrals based on assessed needs.
  • Promote breastfeeding, provide education and support, instruct on breast‑pump use, and maintain inventory.
  • Document health data assessment, education, referrals and participant goals in the WIC computer system.
  • Issue eWIC cards for age‑appropriate nutritious food and instruct on use in grocery stores.
  • Assist in development and implementation of DPH WIC nutrition goals and objectives.
  • Perform related work as required.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or a related field. Minimum of 15 semester hours in food and nutrition from a 4‑year program, including at least one course in diet therapy or medical nutrition therapy I & II and one course in community nutrition or nutrition in the life cycle. Transcripts may be required to verify coursework.

Benefits
