Position: Advancement Systems Programmer Analyst

Job Description

This Advancement Systems Programmer Analyst (Entry, Intermediate or Expert level) position serves as a member of the Division of University Advancement. The role focuses on ensuring data integrity by managing system integrations, implementing new CRM and third‑party application features, and providing detailed reports and analytics to support operational and strategic needs.

Key Responsibilities CRM System Maintenance
  • Maintain system integrity and perform regular audits in cooperation with the Data Management team.
  • Troubleshoot CRM‑related issues, resolve technical problems for end‑users, and provide hands‑on support.
  • Document CRM workflows, customizations, and configurations for future reference.
  • Ensure daily maintenance and operation of the CRM system is properly configured with necessary automations and proactively resolve update errors to reduce system downtime.
Data Integration & Maintenance
  • Manage the integration of the CRM with third‑party systems to ensure smooth and accurate data exchanges.
  • Perform regular data cleaning and maintain data transfer processes for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure real‑time updates between systems to support operational needs.
  • Serve as project manager for data and system integration projects, delivering desired business outcomes on schedule.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Develop customized reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and CRM Advance.
  • Create a comprehensive self‑service reporting suite for end‑users to pull reports directly for daily, weekly, and routine operational tasks.
  • Provide ad‑hoc reports to support data‑driven decision‑making and operational improvements.
  • Maintain canned reporting systems for access to relevant data across platforms, whether in CRM Advance or self‑service reports in Power BI.
  • Learn and master Advancement terms and best practices to ensure the accuracy and relevance of all reporting.
Strategic Operations
  • Produce strategic, value‑added technology solutions for end‑users to address organizational challenges and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Advancement and campus colleagues to identify technological opportunities that support and guide decision‑making through data‑driven analytics.
  • Support efforts to increase philanthropic goals and constituent engagement by leveraging CRM tools and analytics.
  • Oversee technical systems used by Advancement and develop reports and data visualizations for Advancement staff, college leadership, and volunteers.
  • Act as a key partner in the strategic planning and effective operation of fundraising and engagement programs, ensuring technology solutions align with the University’s broader strategic objectives.
  • Develop and submit an Annual Business Plan, identifying key metrics and milestones necessary to achieve annual goals.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and skills is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing CRM systems.
  • Experience generating complex reports, dashboards, and handling ad‑hoc data requests.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and manage system integrations.
  • Documenting code and processes for validation and reproducibility.
Skills

Entry, intermediate, or expert level knowledge of:

  • CRM systems, data integrity practices, and database management.
  • SQL and data visualization through reports and dashboards.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Experience configuring or reporting in Ellucian CRM Advance.
  • Familiarity with fundraising, reporting, and data security standards as provided within CASE, AFP, Apra, and AASP guidelines.
  • Experience with data integrations and process automation.
  • Experience building Power BI reports.
Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
