** The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Medical Advancement reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Medical Advancement and is responsible for providing strategic fundraising leadership and direction to the faculty and the advancement professionals across multiple departments at the Washington University School of Medicine.
The Assistant Vice Chancellor will serve on the Medical Advancement Senior Leadership Team, will manage a team of frontline fundraisers, and will have frontline fundraising goals and responsibilities. This role partners closely with executive faculty and institutional leaders to drive philanthropic growth, align fundraising priorities with academic and clinical objectives, and advance enterprise-wide campaign goals.#

**** Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

*** Carry a personal portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity and inclination to make gifts of $1 million and above and develop innovative strategies for personally cultivating and soliciting new prospects, as well as existing donors, in the near-term and position assigned disease areas and departments for the long-term. Serve as a strategic partner to provide leadership in the planning, preparation, and execution of a comprehensive plan for increasing support from a diverse donor base to support assigned areas.
* Assist assigned Department Chairs and other faculty leaders in prioritizing their funding needs and in developing appropriate fundraising strategies to meet those needs.
* Build the Med Surg team; set appropriate metrics and manage and mentor staff, including multiple Sr. Directors of Advancement and administrative support staff. Partner closely with assigned Director of Strategic Initiatives to ensure alignment project management including fundraising strategy, prospect management, and execution.
* Serve as a strategic partner to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Medical Advancement and the Medical Advancement Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the success and ongoing evolution of the Grateful Patient Engagement program through collaboration with University Advancement and School of Medicine stakeholders.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
