Performing Arts Operations

• Under specific direction, safely and efficiently placeequipment (sound equipment, lighting equipment, other performance support items) on, around, or near stage or event spaces.
• Load and/or unload items and equipment from semi-/box trucks,client vehicles as necessary.
• Safely stage equipment in preparation for use as necessary.

• Under supervision, safely set up portable staging, seating, andtables to match client requests.

• Under specific direction, safely operate or handle theatricalequipment as required in support of an event; equipment may bestaging, audio, lighting, or video equipment; specific training and/or Touhill qualification may be required to be authorized tooperate/handle certain equipment.

• Under supervision, remove portable staging, seating, tables, orother theater or stage equipment that was previously utilized;return items to specified storage locations.
• Organize areas that were utilized in preparation for subsequent events.

• Complete University-mandated training as required.
• Complete Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhillqualification(s)) as required.

As with all positions, may perform other job-related responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wideneeds.

Variable depending on event needs

High school diploma or equivalent and some work experience fromwhich comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

• Ability to transport objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late atnight.
• Willingness to work hard and take direction.
• Experience and comfort with working at heights in elevated positions.
• Experience in event or theatrical setup and production (anyarea of emphasis).
• An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, andusages.
• Good communication skills and customer service experience is recommended.

$19.50-$25.00
