Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager
We are seeking a financial rockstar/Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a hybrid role based out of our New Jersey office, offering the perfect blend of in‑office collaboration and remote flexibility. You will be a vital piece of a passionate team that makes a real difference every day.
If you love numbers, know your way around a factory floor’s financials, and are eager to level up your skills, you might just be our missing link.
You will be responsible for keeping our financial records incredibly accurate while supporting our day‑to‑day accounting operations. You’ll own key parts of the general ledger, drive close processes, and collaborate across teams to make our workflows smoother.
The Core Mission:- Lead key aspects of month‑end and year‑end close processes, and prepare/review journal entries.
- Reconcile complex general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile the inventory subledger to the general ledger, monitoring purchases, transfers, adjustments, and write‑offs.
- The Growth Opportunity (Cost Accounting):
Review and maintain standard costs, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), labor, and overhead allocations. You will analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) fluctuations and provide insights into our margin performance. (Don’t worry if you aren’t a costing expert yet—while this side of the role is complex, we are fully ready to teach and mentor you through it!) - Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, support external audits, and help maintain stellar internal controls.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
We are looking for someone coming out of the manufacturing industry who understands general inventory flow and is excited to deeply learn cost accounting.
Must‑Haves- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong, foundational knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software (if you know Net Suite, that’s a massive gold star!).
- Excel Wizardry: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel—you should look at pivot tables and complex lookups as a fun afternoon project.
- Growth Mindset: Experience working in a high‑growth or scaling mid‑sized organization where priorities can shift quickly.
