Job Opportunity

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver for the school year .

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, meeting Highly Qualified Status by holding a 2 or 4 year degree, completing 48 semester hours, or completing the Pathways to TA Class and the accompanying Work Keys Test. Additionally, working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children and the ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions are required.

For PreK positions, qualifications must meet the NC DHHS North Carolina Child Care Act, including a Federal Background check/Fingerprinting process.

Duties and responsibilities include providing academic assistance, instructional preparation/support, report and records management, monitoring student behavior, and driving a bus/sub bus driver/bus monitor/sub bus monitor as required.

Physical requirements include the ability to communicate orally and in writing, and the ability to perform basic life operational functions such as fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
