Senior Process Control Engineer

The Supply Chain Performance team supports global category procurement teams with a focus on supplier performance, capacity, and risk mitigation. The team operates across the US, UK, and globally (China, Japan, India)

• Control tower management, supplier crisis support, on-site recovery when suppliers disrupt factory supply.
• Drive corrective actions to achieve ~95% on-time delivery targets in partnership with procurement teams.
• Rollout and manage Caterpillar’s internal capacity collaboration tool (NP/RCP), conduct detailed value stream and capacity analysis, and work closely with suppliers and procurement.
• On-site assessments for new, high-risk, or expanding suppliers to support sourcing and volume-shift decisions.

• 2+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, process engineering, supplier development, or capacity planning
• Manufacturing background in any industry, automotive preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify root causes, and support problem-solving
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with procurement teams and external suppliers

• Automotive or heavy equipment manufacturing experience
• Experience in capacity planning, supplier performance, or production planning
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Lean manufacturing knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping)

• Strong relationship-building & collaboration with suppliers and purchasing teams
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at suppliers
