Senior Electrical Utilities Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Utilities Engineer to act as the site’s Owner’s Engineer for ongoing capital projects in a GMP manufacturing environment. This role involves high‑power industrial electrical activities on utilities and building infrastructure.

• Review and approve single‑line diagrams, load studies, and power distribution designs.
• Validate switch gear, MCCs, transformers, breakers, cabling, and grounding.
• Verify motor sizing and protection (e.g., 200 HP motors, VFDs, starters).
• Ensure compliance with NEC, North Carolina electrical codes, and GMP/EHS standards.
• Lead technical reviews for engineering firms.
• Identify design gaps, safety risks, and non‑compliances.
• Support construction reviews, redlines, FAT/SAT.
• Serve as the electrical owner representative for capital and brownfield projects.

• 10+ years experience in industrial/utilities electrical engineering.
• Strong background in power distribution, high‑voltage and high‑power systems, and industrial motors and drives.
• Experience acting as Owner’s Engineer.
• Strong NEC knowledge.
• Experience in pharma, biotech, life sciences, or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing EPCs, contractors, inspectors, AHJs.
• Comfortable walking down sites and reviewing as‑built installations.

• Pharma manufacturing or clean utility systems.
• Brownfield capital projects.
• Experience in regulated environments (FDA, GMP, EHS).
• Multi‑discipline project exposure (HVAC, piping interfaces).

Salary Range: $100,000–140,000
