The Position

Monitor & operate equipment, troubleshoot, identify improvements & assist in maintenance & optimization of assigned equipment systems for the API‑US facility focused on fire suppression & gas detection systems. This role will perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance focused on fire & gas systems; while also supporting other parts of black utilities as needed. Incumbents perform routine technical tasks independently.

This role will require gowning up in our sterile/cleanroom areas. This role is on a Monday‑Friday schedule.

Relationships

Reports to Senior Manager, Technical Support

Essential Functions
  • Monitor process control systems & operate assigned process areas & equipment
  • Frequently makes decisions of minor importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees &/or clientele to a moderate degree
  • Troubleshoot, maintain & identify system improvements
  • Provide technical support for site projects, operations & maintenance as required
  • Adhere to all Quality & Environmental & EH&S regulations within area of responsibility
  • Support technical development of Utilities & Maintenance Technicians
  • Support the maintenance & establishment of SOPs/ standards for processes/equipment & maintenance plans
  • Coach/Train production operators related to relevant processes & equipment
  • Support all design, installation, commissioning, qualification, training activities for assigned area
  • Develop & implement reliability driven maintenance & monitoring plans & practices, including oversight of third‑party service providers
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering/technology or equivalent combination of education & experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field required
  • Knowledge & experience in the operations, maintenance & design of utilities &/or bulk chemical storage equipment required
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred
  • Proficiency in Black Utilities, Clean Utilities &/or RMS systems to include: purified water, clean steam, process air, boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, waste systems, chemical storage & distribution systems, solvent distillation required
  • Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&, PFD, electrical systems & equipment schematics preferred
  • Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, Commissioning & Validation Protocols preferred
