We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing site expansion project in Clayton, NC. This role will be responsible for maintaining and supporting IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and manufacturing-related systems in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong networking and infrastructure experience, a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to support critical business and production operations.
Responsibilities- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for network and infrastructure systems.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Support Windows-based virtual server environments.
- Assist with server room and network closet buildouts, including hardware installation and cabling.
- Monitor and maintain network management, monitoring, backup, and recovery systems.
- Support SAP and other business-critical applications as needed.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and follow established IT policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, end users, and third‑party vendors to resolve issues and improve system reliability.
- Support operations in accordance with FDA regulations, GMP requirements, and company standards.
- Participate in occasional after‑hours support when required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Associate's degree with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments and Windows-based virtual servers.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
- Networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are a plus.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, beverage, cosmetic, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Familiarity with FDA, GMP, GxP, or other regulated industry requirements is highly desirable.
- Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
- VMware, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization platforms
