In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration and improvement of selected infrastructure systems & platform systems.

Reports to Manager.

• Evaluate existing supported virtualization and SAN systems and design proposed systems to ensure lifecycle management of those systems including new technologies
  
  Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of infrastructure systems meets local and regulatory requirements
  
  Collaborate with team to design, build, & operate the overall Virtualization environment including storage & backup of data that meets stakeholder needs
  
  Assist in training team members to ensure coverage & business continuity through coaching and developing their knowledge and skill set Serve as a primary support resource of IT platforms, providing Tier 2 and 3 support as defined in support model
  
  Monitor systems & respond to IT incidents
  
  Serve in the team’s on call rotation and provide after-hours support to the site as required to support production needs
  
  Ensure IT systems are available, capable, and accessible to meet production & business requirements
  
  Direct internal process changes as required to ensure secure and available systems to support production needs
  
  Manage IT department projects and support other business unit projects
  
  Serve as SME during corporate and external agency audits
  
  Collaborate with Global IT Infrastructure groups
  
  Support and practice IT Security Comply with internal & external regulations & procedures
  
  Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  
  Other accountabilities as assigned

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

• Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Engineering, Automation, or relevant field of study from an accredited university required, with minimum of three (3) years of direct related experience included but not limited to System Administration or Engineering tasks, network infrastructure management, virtualization and cloud deployments, backup and disaster recovery processes, etc. required
  
  In lieu of a minimum of three (3) years of direct related experience included but not limited to System Administration or Engineering tasks, network infrastructure management, virtualization and cloud deployments, backup and disaster recovery processes, etc, may consider a minimum of six (6) years of indirect experience included…
