Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician. You will join a team as dedicated to your career as you are. This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer service-focused individual will be responsible for working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs.

This position reports to the Program Manager. This role is onsite and is based at one of our client sites in Clayton, NC.
Responsibilities- Moving pallets of material: 600 lbs, using mechanical assistance, non-powered forklift
- Lifting empty TPU trays: 35 lbs, no mechanical assistance
- Physical hazards: force, bending, twisting
- Moving full totes of vials: 1,000 lbs, using mechanical assistance, powered forklift
- Dumping trays: 35 lbs, no mechanical assistance
- Physical hazards: force, bending, twisting
- Re-packaging of waste appropriately to prepare for off-site destruction and disposal.
- Operating material shredder to destroy materials on-site, and preparing discharge contents for off-site disposal.
- Operate forklift to move supplies as necessary (25%)
- Max handling weight
- Moving drums: 35 lbs, no mechanical assistance
- Physical hazards: force, bending, twisting
- Load/unload drums and other container supplies
- Load and organize recyclable material onto trailer (15%)
- Loading bales onto trailer: 250 lbs, using mechanical powered forklift
- Physical hazards: force, bending, twisting
- Communicate and schedule non-hazardous waste pick‑ups (10%)
- Compost and other food waste
- Plant trash and mixed recyclables
- Food waste and other compost materials
- Styrofoam coolers
- Baled recyclables
- Scrap metal
- Construction waste
- Wooden pallets
- Oversee on-site confidential document shredding (10%)
- Escort subcontractors / drivers to work locations (10%)
- Conduct eyewash/safety shower inspections (10%)
- Cage staffing
- Collect hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams that are delivered to the CAA.
- Dispose of waste streams into appropriate containers.
- Communicate container waste that has been utilized to NN personnel to record in the log‑book.
- Assist with handling to replace full containers.
- Ensure RCRA compliance within the CAA.
- General housekeeping activities (10%)
- Trash cleanup and removal
- Drain rainwater from containment pit
- Forklift inspections
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active driver's license and reliable form of transportation
- Self‑motivated person with the desire to learn
- Successful completion of OSHA/DOT physical examination which includes drug and alcohol screening
- This is a safety sensitive position
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Must be willing to consent to motor vehicle record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
- The Environmental Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety‑sensitive.
- Prior relevant industry experience
- Active HAZWOPER 24‑ or 40‑hour certification
- Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
