Manufacturing Technician Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician sets up, operates, monitors, and controls manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes in a regulated production environment. This role supports the execution of the production schedule, ensures rooms and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to standard operating procedures, and maintains accurate production records. The technician helps drive product quality and safety by following established procedures, identifying and resolving issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Set up, operate, monitor, and control manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Clean and sanitize manufacturing, filling, and packaging rooms and equipment following all applicable SOPs.
- Execute the production schedule to achieve daily and weekly production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Handle labeling and components correctly, including transferring, counting, applying FIFO (first-in, first-out), and managing returns.
- Actively participate in and support event response activities, including troubleshooting and corrective actions when issues arise.
- Review and author SOPs and other documentation as required to support manufacturing operations and compliance.
- Identify, report, and assist in resolving quality issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Execute and/or assist with equipment maintenance activities, including restoration of lost function, predictive maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
- Train fellow employees in areas of expertise and proactively learn new systems and equipment outside of current specialization, as appropriate for experience and skill level.
- Record and review production data in batch production records (BPR) and associated forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties, adhering to facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform other related accountabilities and tasks as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.
- Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines in a regulated environment.
- Previous experience in manufacturing operations or a similar production setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail when handling components, labels, and production documentation.
- Ability to stay on task and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability in being punctual and present on scheduled workdays.
- Capability to follow SOPs and safety procedures consistently and accurately.
- Comfort with recording and reviewing data in batch production records and related forms.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing setting with GMP exposure is preferred.
- Biowork-related training or certification is acceptable and considered relevant.
- Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and processes beyond current areas of expertise.
- Ability to train and mentor peers in specific areas of knowledge.
- Strong communication skills for documenting procedures and collaborating with team members.
This role operates in a regulated manufacturing and cleanroom environment focused on safety, quality, and compliance. The position follows a day shift schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation, with working hours from approximately 6:00 to 6:30 on assigned days. Team members work around manufacturing, filling, and packaging equipment and are expected to follow all safety, environmental, and cleanliness standards. The work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and adhering to proper gowning and cleanroom protocols appropriate to the facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.74 - $21.74/hr.
