The Assistant Manager must be able to perform proficiently and consistently all duties of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) as outlined in the CSR Job Description section of the Operations Policy and Procedures Manual, and perform managerial and leadership duties including recruiting and training new CSR candidates.

• Operate point‑of‑sale equipment, credit/debit cards, lottery, lotto, ATMs, fuel dispensers, and other equipment.
• Handle paperwork transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Serve as an Ambassador for SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s, championing the company’s values and mission statement.
• Address customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Promote teamwork within the store and deliver excellent communication skills.
• Activate emergency controls and alarms, handle accidental spills, use fire extinguishers, and use emergency shut‑offs.
• Provide proper leadership for CSR’s and set a positive customer experience tone when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist with completing store paperwork, scheduling, cash and inventory controls, and bank deposits.
• Assist in training CSR’s to provide great customer service.
• Maintain a clean store for inspection, including restrooms.
• Ensure staff practice upselling to optimize sales.
• Work with vendors following vendor control policies.
• Handle safety procedures, maintain a safe work environment, and respond to safety issues.
• Verify that all surveillance cameras are working at shift end.
• Avoid investigating legal documents without corporate approval; refer such matters to corporate offices.

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Record of success as a Customer Service Representative at SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and department manuals.
• Ability to present information positively in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Experience in cash and inventory control procedures and basic accounting functions.
• A common sense understanding of written, oral or diagram instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Requires ability to work flexible hours with on‑call status, handle equipment, perform emergency procedures, stand and walk for majority of shift.

• Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 25 and 50 pounds.
• Requires close to distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
• Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Requires ability to distinguish letters and symbols.

Work performed in a convenience store/gas station, car wash and restaurant environment, often outdoors with wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold, moderate noise levels.

• Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, heat, and possibly fire.
• Potential exposure to hazardous conditions such as wet or outdoor environments.
• On‑call requirements 24hours per day, seven days per week.
