Independent Freight Agent

RB Humphreys, a Seaford, DE-based independent insurance and financial services firm, seeks an Independent Freight Agent to grow and service freight and cargo insurance clients. You will prospect shippers, carriers, and logistics firms, assess transportation risks, and tailor insurance and risk management solutions. Partnering with a professional, client-focused team, you'll advise on protection and planning needs while building long-term relationships in a collaborative, high-integrity environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a book of freight and cargo insurance clients for RB Humphreys
• Prospect and qualify shippers, carriers, and logistics firms needing coverage and risk management
• Assess client transportation risks and recommend appropriate insurance and financial protection solutions
• Negotiate terms with carriers and underwriting partners to secure competitive rates and coverage
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and policy documentation with high accuracy and compliance
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, policy changes, and renewals
• Coordinate closely with internal service teams to ensure timely policy issuance and servicing
• Monitor accounts for coverage gaps and upsell additional insurance or financial planning solutions
• Maintain detailed records in CRM and adhere to regulatory and company standards
• Participate in community and networking events to build long-term client relationships
