Communications Specialist

Contract duration: 18 month contract with potential for extension or conversion

We are seeking a Communications Specialist 2 for an 18-month onsite role at a large distribution center. This role is responsible for creating and distributing employee communications across newsletters, digital signage, printed materials, presentations, and all-employee meetings, delivering key updates on safety, operations, and performance. Responsibilities include planning communications, supporting facility events, coordinating with leaders and HR, and driving projects that enhance front-line leader development.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or Associate’s with experience), strong writing/editing skills, Microsoft O365 proficiency, and basic graphic design abilities. This visible role offers opportunities to grow creative and operational communication skills while shaping employee engagement.

• Plan and execute facility communications 40%
• Spend time on the floor learning the business, facility and employees 20%
• Coordinate with facility leaders and HR on priority communication topics 10%
• Support facility events 10%
• Help with front-line leader development 10%

• Years of experience: 2-4 years of experience.
• Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree. Will accept an Associate’s Degree in Communications with more experience.

• Effective Communications:
  Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Copywriting and Editing:
  Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write, review and edit texts and documents to promote marketing.
• Basic graphic design:
  Ability to create basic visual communications, including printed materials and digital signs, using PowerPoint or other graphic design tools.
