Position: Clinical Research Nurse - Mercy Clayton/Clarkson Oncology Clinic

The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is responsible for coordination of research studies conducted by Mercy Research, overseeing day‑to‑day operational tasks related to clinical trials. Responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, drug/device/supply inventory maintenance, interaction with physicians, nurses, office staff, patients, and clinical monitors; collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical research data while following local, state and federal regulations. The CRN also assists in training and preceptor duties, increases study load and complexity, and builds relationships with sponsors and CROs.

Qualifications
  • Education: Nursing Diploma, Nursing Associate’s degree, or Nursing Bachelor's degree.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse with valid license in state of practice.
  • Experience: 2 years nursing experience if holding a Bachelor's degree; 3 years for Associate’s or diploma. Experience may be from prior roles, college degrees, or professional background.
  • Other skills: Basic patient assessments (vital signs, spirometry, ECGs, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring), excellent communication, ability to work with health professionals respectfully, computer proficiency (Internet, Microsoft Office), strong math skills (metric system), teamwork and independent problem solving.
Preferred Experience
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • 2 years of clinical research experience.
  • Familiarity with clinical study procedures and monitoring.
