Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical 5 East at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. Full Time | Nights | Weekends (Fri, Sat & Sun). New Graduate & Experienced RNs Welcome.

• Full-Time: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend Option (Fri, Sat & Sun) – $20.00/hour Weekend Option Differential
• 12-hour shifts
• Self-scheduling available
• Free on-campus parking

• Sign-On Bonus (No Contract Required):
  Up to $10,000 for Experienced RNs;
  Up to $5,000 for New Graduate RNs (less than one year of experience)
• Relocation Assistance:
  Up to $3,000 for eligible out-of-state candidates relocating to the St. Louis, MO area

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical 5 East

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

The Medical‑Surgical RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include care coordination, patient safety, documentation, and the delivery of compassionate care aligned with Mercy’s mission and values. This role offers a strong clinical foundation for nurses who enjoy variety, teamwork, and continued professional development.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or a compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute-care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications
• New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds

• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
