Electrical Instructor

Home Builders Institute Inc (HBI) seeks an Electrical Instructor to train students for in-demand construction careers. In this role, you will deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction in residential and light commercial electrical systems, emphasizing safety, code compliance, and practical skills. You will create lessons, assess progress, and mentor diverse learners toward certifications and employment. Working in HBI's mission-driven, collaborative culture, you will partner with employers and community organizations to support workforce development and help students launch successful skilled trades careers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging electrical instruction aligned with HBI curriculum and industry standards
• Provide hands-on lab training in residential and light commercial electrical systems
• Develop lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities to build skills and safety awareness
• Coach, mentor, and support learners toward certifications and job placement
• Maintain a safe, well-organized training environment and ensure tool/equipment readiness
• Collaborate with staff, employers, and community partners to support workforce initiatives
• Track student progress, maintain records, and report outcomes as required
• Promote professionalism, work ethic, and career readiness in the construction trades
