Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Facilities Engineer to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located at Clearfield, Utah.

As a Facilities Engineer you will be responsible for the concept, design, fabrication drawings, inspection requirements, procurement requirements, verification requirements, and fabrication support for tooling and equipment for Aerospace manufacturing applications.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design
  • Managing projects and coordinate all procurements and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements
  • Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design
  • Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
  • Work with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs
  • Developing facilities concepts, creating/reviewing and improving manufacturing processes to meet Customer requirements
  • Work closely with Facility Designers to create final drawings
  • Perform stress analysis to assure mechanically sound per Northrop Grumman requirements
  • Understand/monitor cost and schedule
  • Review engineering drawings and designs for weldability and manufacturability
  • Support vendors as needed during fabrication
  • Support all welding fabrication and design
  • Maintain Northrop Grumman welding certifications, ASL and welding procedures
  • Support all Suppliers and Engineers with accurate and timely welding knowledge
  • Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and function
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Support Operations and Process Engineering in the use of all Facilities/Infrastructure
  • Basic Qualifications:

    This position can be filled at either a level 03 or 04.

    Basic Qualifications for a level 03:

    • BS Electrical/Controls Engineering and 5 years of work experience in Mechanical/Electrical design. Experience with either Allen Bradley, Beckoff, and Fanuc controls is desired.
    • Demonstrated experience with automation and/or instrumentation/controls

    Basic Qualifications for a level 04:

    • BS Electrical/Controls Engineering and 8 years of work experience in Mechanical/Electrical design. Experience with either Allen Bradley, Beckoff, and Fanuc controls is desired.
    • Demonstrated experience with automation and/or instrumentation/controls

    Technical Skills:

    • Desire, i.e. passion, to build and manufacture support hardware
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources
    • Leadership ability
    • Technical attention to detail

    Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900

    Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
