Grumman Aeronautics Systems

has an opening for a first shift Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Clearfield, UT. This position supports a Monday – Thursday 4x10 from 6:00am to 4:30pm schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components.
  • Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs). Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects.
  • Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions.
Basic Qualifications Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level
3)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 4 year or experience in the following engineering fields;
    Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 3 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.
Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level
4)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 year or experience in the following engineering fields;
    Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 6 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with composite manufacturing
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience using NX or similar CAD software
  • Experience using MES or SAP or similar manufacturing execution systems and ERP systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques

    Experience using RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone, etc.
  • Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specification

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $

Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
