Grumman Aeronautics Systems
has an opening for a first shift Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Clearfield, UT. This position supports a Monday – Thursday 4x10 from 6:00am to 4:30pm schedule.
Responsibilities- Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives.
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components.
- Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs). Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects.
- Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 4 year or experience in the following engineering fields;
Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 3 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience. - Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 year or experience in the following engineering fields;
Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters in STEM with 6 years of experience OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience. - Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance per business needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per business needs.
- Experience with composite manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience using NX or similar CAD software
- Experience using MES or SAP or similar manufacturing execution systems and ERP systems
- Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
Experience using RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone, etc. - Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specification
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
