Job Description SummaryThe Tailored Systems Business Area within the Electronics Program Office delivers first‑of‑a‑kind field‑ready microelectronics solutions in support of National Security missions. This role will support a large multi‑disciplinary team as part of a long‑standing, fast‑paced contract with a history of immense success. We are seeking a Principal Mixed Signal Electrical Engineer to join the Low Power Electronics group within the Electronics Division.
CoreResponsibilities
- System architecture design and trade studies
- Proposal development and project execution
- Detailed electrical analysis and design for mixed‑signal electronics
- Schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout/oversight
- Prototype bring‑up, debugging, and functional verification
- Performance characterization
- Translate project and system requirements into well‑defined hardware architectures working with cross‑functional teams.
- Design and/or complete instruments including microprocessors, power, and analog components.
- Innovatively solve issues, drive completion of the project to schedule, and collaborate with other technical contributors.
- Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support.
- Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting‑edge designs.
- Engage other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost‑effective solutions for products.
- Independently drive solutions to complex problems – develop requirements, propose ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt appropriately to changes.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to perform advanced architectures and designs for complex ASICs.
- Involved in business development and proposal activities.
- Identify program/system‑level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Manage multi‑disciplinary tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.
- Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor or embedded computing.
- Understanding of design and general computer architecture.
- Ability to write detailed design specifications.
- Computer programming and coding abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time‑management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience7–10 years of experience in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Security ClearanceApplicants selected for this position may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Salary & BenefitsUS base salary range: $95,000.00 – $. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
