Manufacturing / Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 2/3
Location:
Clearfield, UT.
Travel: 10% of the time.
Relocation assistance:
None.
Primary work schedule:
Day shift, Monday‑Thursday (4×10 schedule).
Role can be filled at either Manufacturing Engineer Level2 or Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level3 based on qualifications.
Responsibilities- Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and rework metrics for responsible production lines.
- Support floor operations to meet production requirements.
- Review and interpret design drawings and specifications to ensure process capability.
- Provide technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring creativity, practicality, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials, Work Instructions, manufacturing routers, and standard work documentation.
- Lead continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Handle preliminary dispositions of non‑conforming parts and assemblies, evaluating defects against requirements and determining optimal actions.
- Support root cause analysis of failures and manage implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist with manufacturing proposals and basis‑of‑estimates for potential contracts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of engineering experience in Manufacturing, Production, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Process, Aerospace, Systems, Design, Electrical, or Materials engineering (or Master’s Degree with 0 years of experience).
- Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to obtain a DoD clearance prior to start.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR) prior to start.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of engineering experience in Manufacturing, Production, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Process, Aerospace, Systems, Design, Electrical, or Materials engineering (or Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 0 years of experience).
- Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to obtain a DoD clearance prior to start.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR) prior to start.
- Degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Composite Engineering.
- Active DoD Clearance.
- Active Special Program Access.
- Solid understanding of root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes and techniques.
- Experience with RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone diagrams.
- Knowledge of composite part manufacturing.
- Experience with computer‑assisted design software (CATIA preferred).
- Experience with Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specifications.
