Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Principal/Sr Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located onsite in Clearfield, Utah.
Responsibilities- Perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program.
- Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives.
- Derive non‑flight applied loads, create, extract, and distribute internal loads and perform weight and stiffness optimization utilizing tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.
- Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems to develop solutions.
- Senior Principal Structural Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 8 years’ experience, including a background in aerospace structural analysis; or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 6 years’ experience, including a background in aerospace structural analysis. - Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Structural analysis experience in any of the following areas:
Airframe, Crew Systems, Subsystems, and/or Structural Integrity. - Experience with modeling, simulation, stress, cure modeling, deformation, warping using software such as Nastran, Abaqus, and Convergent/Compro.
- Active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
Primary level salary range: $ – $. This range is a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Personnel in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives. Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
