Job SummaryThe Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor is a licensed mental health professional who provides oversight of the operations, clinical services and staff, ensuring high quality, compassionate and effective care is provided. The supervisor is responsible for program development, implementation, monitoring, staff training, regulatory compliance and interdepartmental coordination.
The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor ensures services within the program are designed to help individuals overcome substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. The supervisor ensures the program provides intensive, structured, evidence-based care aimed at reducing or eliminating substance use, promoting mental and physical well-being and supporting long‑term recovery.
Essential Job FunctionsThe Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor Is responsible for performing the following essential job functions at the expected level and within the expected time frames:
- Maintain monthly productivity standards.
- Complete evaluations, risk assessments and safety/relapse prevention plans.
- Provide level of care and treatment recommendations.
- Develop treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group and family therapy.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
In addition to the essential job functions outlined above, the following responsibilities are assigned to your specific position.
- Leadand supervise therapists.
- Co‑supervise recovery support specialists assigned to the IOP program.
- Develop, monitor and track program implementation to ensure client needs are being met and treatment is effective.
- Ensure staff are meeting the agency productivity and documentation standards, managing caseloads effectively, maintaining ethical and professional behavior, in compliance with state and agency guidelines, providing evidenced based treatment and utilizing best practice guidelines.
- Conduct weekly team meetings and individual supervision meetings with clinicians.
- Identify, provide and coordinate training as needed.
- Monitor clients to ensure services are being accessed and/or referred to appropriate programs and levels of care within DBH as well as outside referrals.
- Manage intensive outpatient group schedules.
- Collaborate with different departments and community partners to support client and agency needs.
- Monitor staff time and attendance and approve employee timecards.
- Coordinate and participate with Program Director and Human Resources on Personnel Actions and any disciplinary processes.
- Attend quarterly supervisors meeting.
- Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.
Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EducationMaster'sdegree in social work or a related field preferred.
Certification/LicensureCurrent licensure int he State of Utah as an LCSW, CMHC, or MFT.
TrainingComplete all required training that is assigned to the Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor position by defined deadlines.
Experience Required Required- Minimum 3 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience and knowledge of substance use disorders and co‑occurring disorders.
- Experience using ASAM criteria to make level of care and treatment recommendations.
- Supervisory or administrative experience is preferred.
- Working with justice referred individuals is preferred.
The Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Supervisor must possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
