Overview
Quarter Line (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.
Essential Functions andJob Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
- Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
- Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
- Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within establishedtimeframes.
- Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
- Maintainaccuratereferral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
- Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service whilemaintainingpatient confidentiality.
- US Citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- One (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
- Demonstrated computerproficiencyand keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to obtain andmaintaina favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.
- Current Basic Life Support certification(AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training.
- Must pass TB Test.
- Subject to a background/security investigation.
- Willingness tocomply withDHA vaccination requirements.
- Pre-employment drug screening.
