Job Description

Davis Behavioral Health is actively seeking a full-time Therapist to work on the Adult Substance Use Disorder outpatient team.

This position is responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual, group, and family therapy, and monitoring client progress using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions. The therapist collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team, provides crisis intervention as needed, and maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities are assigned to the Adult SUD Therapist include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder assessments and diagnoses as appropriate.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans consisting of mutually agreed-upon goals and objectives and update as needed.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning.
  • Maintain agency standards for productivity and documentation.
  • Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled supervision.
  • Complete all required training that is assigned to this position by the defined deadlines.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the essential job functions outlined above, the following responsibilities are assigned to your specific position.

  • Provide treatment to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention when necessary.
  • Ensure services support client stability, recovery, and functioning in the community.
  • Work a minimum of 2 evenings per week.
  • Facilitate multiple groups each week.
  • Provide weekly court reports for specialty courts.
  • Attend specialty courts as requested.
  • Participate in yearly Recovery Days.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
Employment Schedule

This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule requires one evening per week and/or some weekend time. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.

Work schedules at DBH are established to meet the needs of our clients and the agency. Program Supervisors, with the approval of Program Directors, determine the specific schedules for their assigned departments and have the authority to ask employees to work a different shift and/or in a different location on a short-term or permanent basis to meet the departments' needs.

The proposed schedule for this position is outlined below:

  • Monday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Tuesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location

This position works out of the DBH Main Street Clinic located at 934 South Main Street, Layton, Utah 84041.

This position will work primarily out of the MSC office; however, there may be times when the individual is required to attend meeting at other DBH locations or in the community.

Compensation

These positions is classified as full-time, exempt.

Base Rate

The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $77,000.00 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:

  • $77,000.00 to $90per year is the approved base rate range

  • 1% per year for each year of full licensure added to starting base

  • $3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.

Under-licensed therapists (CSW/ACMHC) are compensated at a rate of $65,000.00 per annum.

Required Experience

The successful candidate must be licensed as a masters-level clinician in the State of Utah. DBH's preference is to hire a fully-licensed LCSW; however, candidates with an active license in the State of Utah as a CSW, CMHC, ACMHC, or MFT will be considered. The Adult Mental Health Outpatient position requires full clinical licensure.

Additional preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
