Summit Technologies is seeking an experienced Mission Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support U.S. Air Force mission planning operations at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This position provides technical expertise for mission planning software, supports enterprise fielding efforts, and serves as the primary technical resource for System Support Representatives (SSRs) deployed worldwide.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting Air Force mission planning systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to provide technical leadership in a fast-paced operational environment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the technical Subject Matter Expert for U.S. Air Force mission planning software and related systems.
Validate software installation procedures and technical documentation.
Support software fielding, implementation, and deployment activities.
Troubleshoot, document, and report hardware and software issues.
Provide technical guidance and reach-back support to System Support Representatives (SSRs) supporting operational units.
Assist with software updates, system maintenance, and configuration management.
Coordinate with government personnel and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of system issues, resolutions, and support activities.
Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity and information assurance requirements.
Minimum QualificationsActive DoD Secret Security Clearance (required).
Proven leadership and organizational skills.
Experience supporting U.S. Air Force mission planning processes or mission planning software strongly preferred.
Knowledge of DoD and U.S. Air Force information technology environments preferred.
Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams.
Education and CertificationsBachelor's degree preferred. Relevant military or professional experience may be substituted for education.
CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within three months of hire) to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements.
