Summary / Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for operations execution in the Freeport/East Gate buildings. The primary purpose is to lead the manufacturing organization for a program(s). The candidate will be measured on both financial and non-financial indicators directly related to safety, quality, on-time delivery, employee engagement, and cost profitability. The candidate’s other primary roles include both creation of strategic vision (long-term) and tactical management (short-term) for the assigned programs within the STRIKE Program.
- Has overall responsibility for execution of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee, and Cost objectives, along with Employee Engagement for a large organizational unit within the sites
- Strong focus on safe work environment, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement activities
- Optimizes product flow, production rates, and product mix to meet customer demands
- Responsible for proactive resource management to mitigate production schedule risks
- Support a work environment characterized by employee involvement and participative management to encourage the highest level of employee commitment and cooperation
- Manage a cost center’s staffing levels to support customer requirements while maintaining efficient operations
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of related manufacturing experience and 3 years of leadership experience, or a master’s degree with 5 years of related manufacturing experience and 3 years of leadership experience, or an associate’s degree with 9 years of related manufacturing experience and 3 years of leadership experience. In lieu of a degree, the candidate must have a high school diploma and 11 years of related manufacturing experience and 3 years of leadership experience.
- Must have an active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
- Experience in labor and capacity forecasting.
- Proven experience with mid to high-rate production programs.
- Strong working knowledge of composites manufacturing processes to include experience manufacturing composite structures.
- Demonstrated consistent use of the following competencies:

- Understanding and use of root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated success in maximizing resources and throughput.
- Demonstrated ability to remove waste from production process.
- Experience manufacturing composite structures.
- Experience in implementing process improvements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Earned Value Management System.
- Demonstrated use of production control tools (e.g., schedule, MRP, manpower forecasts).
- A demonstrated progressive increase in responsibilities within operations organization.
- Current Special Program Access (PAR).
