JOB DESCRIPTION
Chemical Operator
Pay Rate: $22/hr (W2 Only)
Duration: 3 Months (Temp-to-Hire | Possible Extension)
Location: Building J, 5 Freeport Center, Clearfield, UT 84016
Schedule: Monday Friday | 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
Overtime: Occasional OT as required
Position Overview
We are seeking a Chemical Operator for a climate-controlled facility in Clearfield, UT. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates seeking long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a chemical manufacturing or distribution environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Transfer raw materials from storage to tanks
- Perform shipping and receiving duties at loading docks
- Package products (non-hazardous chemicals)
- Schedule and perform unloading/loading of:
- Tankers
- Rail cars
- Totes
- Execute daily production plans using SAP
- Complete quality control documentation
- Create and process batch cards
- Receive materials into SAP
- Package customer orders (pails, drums, totes)
- Safely operate forklift and maintain dock safety compliance
Measuring and mixing raw materials will not be an immediate responsibility but may be assigned as the contractor grows within the role.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or distribution (strongly preferred)
- Previous exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement culture (preferred)
- Strong commitment to Safety, EH&S, Quality, and Customer Service
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally
- Forklift Certification required for long-term employment
- Equipment:
Propane-powered 5K lb sit-down/counterbalance forklifts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SAP (Production Module preferred)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Team-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Standing for extended periods
- Handling drums, bags, and packaging materials
