Composite Bonder Technician

Job Summary

Composite Bonder – Level 3 position supporting the Clearfield, UT site within the Manufacturing Operations Organization of the Aeronautics Systems sector.

This role requires hands‑on expertise in composites construction, detailed attention to quality, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Shift work may include weekdays, nights, and weekends with shift differential paid during eligible shifts.

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
• Apply understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
• Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
• Control heat, pressure, and timing conditions by setting and operating various controls according to specifications.
• Sand, burr, and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
• Complete repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
• Monitor and verify quality of finished product.

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of structures/composites experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing or maintenance environments.
• Ability to perform moderate, strenuous, repetitive work including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must successfully complete and pass the "ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance" within a reasonable time period.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.

• Current or active U.S. Government Secret level clearance.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, and blueprints.

Primary Level Salary Range: $52,700.00 - $87,900.00.
