NDI Technician Level II, III - Clearfield, UT (MRDC Facility) (Part-Time, 20-30 hours per week) General Position Summary

As a Level II or Level III NDI Technician at ES3, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day operational project activities and aircraft technician tasks for aircraft quality inspection reporting. You’ll perform NDI Technician duties using automated inspection systems and manual techniques. The following NDT techniques will also be performed in this role:

  • Evaluating and interpreting NDI scans of metal and composite materials.
  • Calibrate, standardize, set-up and utilize non-destructive inspection testing equipment
  • Conduct inspections or tests to ensure and detect discontinuities (indications) using applicable NDI methods
  • Apply inspection criteria in accordance with applicable customer specifications or standards and evaluate results
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated
  • Perform inspection of components and assemblies to determine worthiness per appropriate specifications
  • Plan and Prepare inspection reports ensuring all records of rejection and corrective action are reported, logged and filed correctly in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Routes rejected parts and assemblies to appropriate department for disposition and/or repair. Alerts supervisor on any noteworthy trends or issues.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of non-destructive test equipment.
  • Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations
  • May provide training to others as required.
  • Work closely with the Quality department in performing all NDI related tasks
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by Management
Essential

Skills and Abilities

Required

Possess and demonstrate the ability to effectively perform assigned NDI tasks and interpret results of inspections for aircraft components with the following methods:

  • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI)
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
  • Ultrasonic Inspection
  • Radiographic (x-ray) Inspection
  • Eddy Current, high and low frequency
  • Possess the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
  • Capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures.
  • Ability to successfully complete periodic training requirements
  • Aircraft and/or aircraft component experience.
  • Must be able to work independently or in collaboration with other team members
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret customer specifications and drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills
  • Desktop (PC) computer and Windows-based tools to produce original documents including sketches, plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Exceptional Safety and Quality awareness
  • Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Education and Experience Required
  • NAS 410 Certification Level II or higher
  • Direct NDI experience and training (specifically on F-16 wings)
  • Demonstrated experience with Mag Particle, Florescent Penetrant, Eddy Current and Ultrasound Inspections.

Other Requirements
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Ability to meet NDT Visual Acuity standard requirements
