Maintenance Mechanic

Major Duties

• Perform mechanical installation, maintenance, repair of programmable/computer-controlled Conveyer Systems Industrial Plant/Robotic Equipment and Real Property Installed Equipment. Perform tasks of various skills that include electrical, mechanical and pipe fitting repairs. Install and assemble piping, fittings, and accessories/components to high- and low-pressure liquid lines, vacuum lines, heat exchangers, hydraulic lines, heating and cooling coils and numerous other high/low pressure systems. Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, guides, codes, and work orders, in the installation maintenance, and repair of programmable/computer controlled Conveyer Systems (NC/CNC) Industrial Plant/Robotic Equipment (IPE) and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) and facilities.
  
  Use and assure proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing. Maintain bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4700 General Maintenance and Operations Work Family
. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
