Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Position Overview

Primary responsibilities involve the receipt, inspection, and shipping of material to ensure items being stowed or shipped meet customer requirements.

• Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material per regulations.
• Perform visual examinations and use measuring devices under senior mentoring.
• Read specifications, photographs, blueprints, and schematics as required.
• Load and unload material onto skids, pallets, and stands.
• Prepare labels, tags, and basic reports.
• Operate tools and equipment and input data to automated systems.
• Maneuver material handling equipment and maintain the appropriate license.
• Count, weigh, record data, and apply preventive maintenance adjustments to equipment.

Minimum three (3) months general work experience demonstrating ability to perform position requirements. High school diploma or GED required, or substitution of experience at the rate of one year of general experience for one year of high school education.

• Ability to obtain a license to use material handling equipment within 30 days of selection.
• Completion of Inert Certification training requirements.
• Ability to travel and to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, if required.

Shop environment with hazardous equipment, MHE, obstacles, and high activity volume. Must lift and carry up to 45 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, and have full dexterity and correctable vision. Outdoor work in hot, cold, or wet weather is common. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise; protective devices required. Shift work may include evenings, Saturdays, and short‑notice availability.

Hourly rate: $20.92

Positions are overtime‑eligible and comply with the Service Contract Act (SCA).
