The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Applicants are recruited as needed throughout the year and the applicant pool is refreshed every two years.

Applicants in the pool remain active for two years. After two years they will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

  • Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for agriculture courses up to 10 hours per week.
  • Organize and teach all levels of agriculture classes.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess student learning outcomes every semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
REQUIRED DUTIES:
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a Master’s in agriculture, agriculture science, education with a specialization in agriculture, or another related agricultural field, including but not limited to agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, ornamental horticulture, equine science, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture, or other agriculture science.

EXPERIENCE: Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates the ability to teach agricultural studies to community college students.

Range/Step:
Class I - VII (based on degree and teaching experience).
