The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Applicants are recruited year‑round and remain active in the hiring pool for two years.
Position InformationJob Title: Part Time
- Political Science Instructor
Location: Lake County Campus – Clear Lake, CA
Job Description- Develop and deliver instruction for up to 10 hours per week in Political Science courses.
- Organize and teach all levels of Political Science classes.
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, including distance learning and accelerated courses.
- Assess student learning outcomes each semester.
- Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.
Required duties: Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in political science, government, or international relations
- or Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND a master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.
Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that would demonstrate the ability to teach Political Science to community college students.
