The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

- FOREIGN TRANSCRIPTS: Include a U.S. evaluation and translation. Click HERE for a list of acceptable agencies providing foreign transcript services.
- The District retains the right to extend time limits or initiate the recruitment/selection process anew at any stage.
- Education Code §87408.6 requires a tuberculosis examination within the last sixty (60) days before employment.
- The position requires fingerprints to the local police department. Fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report are the employee’s responsibility.
- Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Part Time Chemistry Instructor
Location:
Lake County Campus – Clear Lake, CA
BASIC FUNCTION:
- Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Chemistry courses up to 10 hours/week.
- Organize and teach all levels of Chemistry classes.
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
- Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.
REQUIRED DUTIES:
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s in chemistry.
- Â Or Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry AND
- Master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry.
EXPERIENCE:
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Chemistry to community college students.
Physical DemandsRange/Step:
Class I – VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).
Part‑time positions less than 0.60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
