Adjunct Mathematics and/or Statistics Instructor

Location: Yuba County Community College District, Clearlake, California, United States

The Adjunct Mathematics and/or Statistics Instructor will develop and deliver instructional lectures for mathematics and statistics courses up to 10 hours per week, including basic, intermediate, and transfer preparation courses. The position may include day, evening, weekend, distance learning, or accelerated courses.

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Mathematics and/or Statistics courses up to 10 hours/week.
• Organize and teach all levels of basic mathematics classes (also statistics, if qualified).
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
• Assess student learning outcomes every semester.
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees (if desired).

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics Education AND a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics Education (if the Master’s is in Mathematics Education it must have been conferred by a mathematics department at the time the degree was obtained).
• Equivalent experience or credentials (e.g., California Community College life credential in Mathematics).

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Salary Range: $53.28 - $75.44 per lecture hour ($53.28 - $75.44/Lecture Rate Per Hour)
