Adjunct Mathematics and/or Statistics Instructor

Location:

Lake County Campus – Clear Lake, CA

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Mathematics and/or Statistics courses up to 10 hours per week.
• Organize and teach all levels of basic mathematics classes (and statistics, if qualified).
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
• Teach day, evening, or weekend assignments, including distance learning via interactive television, online platforms, and accelerated courses.
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes each semester.
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Master’s Degree in mathematics or applied mathematics.
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the above courses AND Master’s in statistics, physics, or mathematics education (if the Master’s in Mathematics Education was conferred by a mathematics department).
• The equivalent.
• Possess a California Community College Life Credential in the subject matter area of Mathematics.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.

$53.28 – $75.44 per hour (lecture rate).
