Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery settings
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for mothers and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and newborn care
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain competency in emergency response and crash cart protocols
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 1 year Labor & Delivery experience required
- Nursery experience (any level) and postpartum experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
Certifications:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS (AHA) certification (required prior to patient care; recertification every 2 years)
- NRP certification (required within 6 months of employment; recertified every 2 years)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (required within 6 months; recertified every 2 years)
- ACLS preferred (required within 6 months for applicable units; recertified every 2 years)
- STABLE preferred
- Hospital conscious sedation certification (within 6 months if applicable)
- Familiarity with crash cart procedures (for BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certified personnel)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple patient populations within Women’s Services
