- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients.
- Monitor fetal heart tones, maternal vitals, and labor progress with timely interventions.
- Collaborate with obstetricians and care teams to develop and adjust care plans.
- Document and chart patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Identify safety risks and implement standard precautions to prevent complications.
- Educate patients and families on birth plans, pain management, and postpartum care.
- Administer medications and monitor responses per hospital protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and track key performance metrics.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay current with evidence-based obstetric nursing practices.
- Mentor and support junior staff to promote professional development and growth.
- Maintain on-site readiness, equipment, and supply inventories for L&D operations.
- Participate in pipeline and territory planning to anticipate staffing and demand needs.
- Current RN license with obstetric/gynecology nursing certification preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years L&D or high-acuity obstetric nursing experience
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring, maternal vital signs, and labor progression assessment
- Ability to develop and adjust care plans with obstetricians and care teams
- Strong documentation skills using electronic chart systems and compliance with standards
- Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and standard precautions
- Experience in medication administration and monitoring per hospital protocols
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives and metric tracking
- Mentorship ability and support for junior staff development
- On-site readiness: equipment, supply inventory, and L&D readiness readiness
- Willingness to participate in pipeline and territory planning for staffing needs
- On-site position in Clearlake, CA — work together with the team at our local facility
