Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized maternal and neonatal care, supporting women from childbirth through postpartum recovery. This role involves supervising and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using fetal monitoring techniques and appropriate equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn stabilization procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the EPIC system.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality regulations including HIPAA guidelines.
  
  Qualifications:
• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
• Minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NRP and hospital conscious sedation certifications preferred.
• Strong labor and postpartum skills, including newborn stabilization and fetal monitoring.
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to work night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM on a 36-hour workweek.
