Clearlake Veterinary Clinic is a small animal clinic that practices high‑quality, progressive medicine. We believe in modern medicine integrated with alternative therapies and are always open to and encourage new ideas. Our team approach to daily patient case management means veterinarians work closely together on difficult cases. Support staff provide doctors with the time they need to focus on patients. We are community‑centered and take pride in supporting local outreach programs, including the ACME Foundation, Rotary of Lake County and the Clearlake Police K9 Unit.

Located in a beautiful and scenic area of Northern CA, this role offers a small‑town lifestyle with big‑city benefits within easy reach. You can live less than 30–40 minutes from world‑class wineries, 2 hours from seaside destinations like Mendocino & Fort Bragg, and just over an hour from Santa Rosa and Napa. We can help with commute costs if you live in Napa or Santa Rosa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
  • Client communication and education
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
  • Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications (Required)
  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
  • Current state veterinary license
  • DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Excellent surgical and dental skills
  • Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care
