WHATYOU WILL DO
The Corporate Staff Accountant position will interact with corporate leadership and collaborate closely with on-site community managers to provide accounting support. You will be responsible for cash application, online payment processing, corporate allocations, and assisting with financial projects across all business segments. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
Additionally, this position will assist in identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices to facilitate Green Courte Residential’s ongoing expansion.
- Record daily cash transactions
- Reconcile customer payments to outstanding invoices
- Perform corporate bank and other cash reconciliations as assigned
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain detailed records of transactions
- Review, code, and post vendor invoices
- Ensure proper approvals and compliance with company policies
- Create wire transfers, ACH payments, and cash transfers as required
- Prepare and post allocation entries across departments/entities
- Maintain allocation methodologies and supporting documentation
- Analyze and validate allocation accuracy
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts as requested
- Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all required financial information for an assigned portfolio of communities
- Collaborate with community managers and accounting team members as needed to perform the day-to-day financial operations
- Performs other duties as assigned - including:
- Partner with the Reporting team to provide meaningful variance comments
- Assist with annual budget process
- Participate in the external audit process
- Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies
- Administering accounting procedures and monitoring internal controls
- Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned in a timely manner
- Utilize accounting IT systems including Yardi and Rent Manager
- Willing to travel a few times per year for training and/or visiting communities
- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience and cash application experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative
- Aptitude for learning and utilizing various accounting systems
- Persistent sense of urgency and accuracy, with keen appreciation for detail
- Real estate or manufactured housing background a plus, but not required
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, varying lines of business and stakeholders
- Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines
