Position
Staff Accountant (Full-time/Exempt). Department:
Finance. Reports to Director of Accounting.
The Staff Accountant will manage various accounting functions, with a focus on Food and Beverage (F&B) accounting. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with company policies and supporting the finance team and management with financial operations.
Essential Functions Food and Beverage Accounting- Oversees all accounting for F&B revenues and costs, ensuring proper recording of sales, purchases, and inventory.
- Prepares bi-weekly tip reports for Food and Beverage employees for payroll processing.
- Reconciles sales transactions in the point-of-sale system, identifies discrepancies, and resolves issues in a timely manner.
- Counts cash from two venues to confirm accurate cash balances and stand sheets and prepares cash banks for future shows
- Reconciles transactions processed through third-party payment systems (credit card processors, online payment platforms).
- Works with the operations team to ensure accurate reporting of F&B cost of goods sold.
- Assists with the preparation of month‑end and year‑end close processes, including external audits.
- Prepares journal entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts, and maintains accurate financial records.
- Prepares monthly sales tax for all three venues.
- Verifies, prepares, and tracks payments for merchandise settlements and third‑party food vendors.
- Assists in the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
- Performs ad‑hoc accounting projects and analysis as required by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, with preferred experience in food and beverage accounting.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in the application of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of financial management and budgeting.
- Ability to anticipate problems or to identify them before significant impact on company revenue or expenses.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Ability to maintain good attendance.
- Ability to drive.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
