Accounting Manager
- High Growth, M&A Transaction Exposure

A rapidly growing, multi-entity insurance organization is seeking a technically strong Accounting Manager to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional, particularly someone coming from a Big Four, national, or large regional firm to move into a high-visibility corporate accounting leadership role with direct exposure to senior management, acquisitions, systems transformation, and the continued development of a scalable finance function.

This is not a maintenance-focused accounting role. The Accounting Manager will take meaningful ownership of the close process, support GAAP-compliant financial reporting, help develop members of the accounting team, and build the infrastructure required to support a fast-growing organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and improve key components of the monthly close process
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
  • Improve the speed, accuracy, and consistency of the close
  • Ensure accounting activities and financial reporting comply with GAAP
  • Support accounting and reporting across multiple legal entities
  • Oversee consolidations, intercompany activity, and complex account reconciliations
  • Strengthen accounting policies, controls, documentation, and reporting processes
  • Participate in acquisition diligence, purchase accounting, and integration activities
  • Support debt reporting, bank covenant compliance, and lender requirements
  • Partner with finance leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects
  • Help evaluate and implement a new ERP and related accounting technologies
  • Communicate financial results and accounting matters to nonfinancial stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the accounting team
  • Serve as a hands-on player-coach within a lean, growing department
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or active CPA candidate strongly preferred
  • Public accounting experience, ideally with a Big Four, national, or large regional firm
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience leading or owning monthly close activities
  • Prior experience reviewing work and mentoring accounting staff
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Quick Books, SAP, Net Suite, or similar accounting systems is a plus
  • Exposure to multi-entity accounting, consolidations, or complex corporate structures
  • M&A, transaction accounting, purchase accounting, or ERP implementation experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
The Right Person:
  • Technically rigorous and committed to producing accurate work
  • Hungry to grow into broader accounting leadership
  • Interested in moving beyond traditional audit work into a hands‑on corporate environment
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable solving problems without extensive direction
  • Intellectually curious and interested in understanding the business behind the numbers
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment where processes are evolving
  • Able to communicate complex accounting concepts to nonfinancial colleagues
  • Motivated by the opportunity to build, improve, and influence
  • Willing to remain hands‑on while also developing others
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Join a high-growth organization with significant expansion plans
  • Work directly with experienced finance and executive leadership
  • Gain meaningful exposure to acquisitions, diligence, integration, and transaction accounting
  • Help modernize accounting systems and processes
  • Influence how the accounting function is built and scaled
  • Receive direct mentorship while taking on meaningful leadership responsibility
  • Position yourself for future Controller‑level opportunities
  • Join a collaborative, family-oriented culture that rewards initiative and performance
  • Transition to a hybrid schedule after successfully completing the initial training period
Compensation and Benefits
  • Performance-based bonus potential
  • 401(k) company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Flexible working hours based on performance and business needs

This opportunity is ideal for a strong Accounting Manager or public accounting professional who wants to build something, gain direct exposure to leadership, and accelerate their path toward a future Controller role.
