Staff Accountant

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting the monthly close process, maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing financial data to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including complex cash reconciliations and analysis.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain accounting records related to accruals, prepaids, rebates, royalties, and other general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end reporting packages and provide variance analysis for management review.
• Support internal control procedures and ensure compliance with accounting policies and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit requests and supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and reporting accuracy.
• Support process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and system enhancements.
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare supporting documentation and accounting memorandums as needed.
• Partner with managers across departments to provide financial information and support operational decision-making.
• Contribute to special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2-4+ years of accounting experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and general accounting practices.
• Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• CPA or CMA designation, or progress toward certification.
• Experience working with ERP systems in a multi-entity environment.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot
