Position: Senior External Reporting Accountant
Location: Clearwater, FL - Hybrid
Role: Direct Hire
Position OverviewEstablished organization is seeking a Senior Accountant, External Reporting to join its external reporting team. This role is heavily focused on journal entries, financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and consolidation activities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post complex journal entries throughout the monthly reporting cycle
- Prepare financial statements and external reporting packages
- Analyze financial results, trends, and fluctuations and communicate key takeaways
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes
- Perform account analysis and research to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
- Support consolidation and reporting activities using Oracle and One Stream
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external reporting
- Assist with revenue reporting and analysis, including identifying trends and significant variances
- Translate financial results into clear, concise information for management and other stakeholders
- Present financial results and reporting insights to non-accounting audiences
- Partner with the External Reporting Manager and accounting team to meet recurring reporting deadlines
- Support audit requests and provide documentation and explanations for reported financial information
- Assist with improving reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
- Public accounting experience is required
- Experience with external financial reporting and financial statement preparation
- Strong journal entry and month-end close experience
- Full-cycle accounting background
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports
- Strong understanding of revenue reporting and financial analysis
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial results to stakeholders
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Ability to interpret financial data and explain results to non-accounting audiences
