We are hiring a full‑time, on‑site Payroll Specialist in Clearwater, FL. The position includes a $1,250 sign‑on bonus payable after 90 days of employment. In this role you will process payroll, deliver customer service to our clients, and support the payroll team.
- Handle a permanent processing schedule of 80 or more points per week and assist teammates as needed.
- Enter employee maintenance with accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local rules.
- Maintain accuracy through balancing procedures for payrolls of all complexity levels.
- Monitor the payroll queue and process at least 20–25 payrolls per year.
- Cover client accounts during planned and unplanned absences across payroll teams.
- Assist clients with common HRIS system functions.
- Provide exceptional service and support to clients and internal employees.
- Perform self‑audit payroll reviews for accuracy and compliance.
- Understand payroll rules, calculations and multi‑state payrolls.
- Use Excel basics (formulas, copy‑paste, sorting, etc.).
- Know FLSA, state and local payroll regulations.
- Create and manipulate reports to meet client needs.
- Understand paid time off accrual types and apply them in systems.
- Assist with projects and provide feedback on software and processes.
- Apply problem‑solving skills to resolve questions or issues.
- Manage time, prioritization and organization, including email organization.
Keys to success include experience in payroll processing, strong customer‑service and communication skills, and proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant payroll experience.
