What you will doIn this position you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally you will follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.
How you will make an impact- Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN).
- Review appropriate databases for any previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
- Provide clerical support for a multi‑function Family Safety Unit.
- Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline. The case is then assigned in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and CPI is notified.
- Follow the same procedure for any Out‑of‑town Inquiry Request that is received.
- Assign cases to CPI or CPI Supervisor.
- Package investigation information and conduct diligent searches.
- Archive case files and maintain rotation and case logs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Two years of clerical experience preferred.
- Must be able to work occasional weekends and holidays.
- Some Agency positions may require successful completion of pre‑interview assessment or work sample prior to interview.
- Ability to speak/read/write Spanish, Creole, French or other foreign language may be considered in the selection process as determined by Agency need at time of interview.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Knowledge of the methods for organizing and presenting data.
- Ability to conduct meetings and to make presentations.
- Ability to collect, record and analyze data relating to records or operational procedures.
- Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Include supervisor names and phone numbers for all periods of employment.
- Account for and explain any gaps in employment so that the hiring process is not delayed.
- Experience, education, training, knowledge, skills and/or abilities as well as responses to pre‑qualifying questions must be verifiable to meet the minimum qualifications.
